And so it begins...

I have been an avid blog stalker for a few years and have gained a lot of insight from the blogs I follow.  Most of the blogs I read cater to a younger crowd, whose metabolism is not just a long ago memory.  I am a new runner, and I'm an old-ish lady. Can these two co-exist?  That's what I'm trying to find out.  I'm hoping to encourage others along the way, and be an inspiration to those who are just starting their journey.

Over the past year and a half, I've lost 80 pounds by attending Weight Watcher meetings at work. The food part has been fairly easy, once I figured out that the more nutritious my meals were, the more satisfied I felt.  I also figured out that exercise plays a large part in how I feel and how fast I lose weight (Duh)!  I am down from a size 18/20 to a size 8/10, hence the name of my blog.  I would say that it's a pain to have to buy a whole new wardrobe, but it's kind of fun!

Now, the final part of my adventure will chronicle the steps I take to lose the last 20 pounds to get to my goal weight, along with the steps I take to reach my goal of running a 5k and beyond.  Join me, won't you??
